Setup 2FA Account at mobile device
When a new user logs into the Office Portal for the first time via x, they are prompted to set up MFA. This process can be carried out using one of the two methods described below.
Method 1 of 2
1. Sign into the Office Portal
1.1. Open your browser and go to https://portal.office.com
Now you should see the window above, please type your email address and click next.
2. Enter Password
Afterwards a windows will open asking you to enter your password. Please provide your normal Miebach login password here.
3. Start with the 2FA / MFA setup
3.1. The "More information Required" window is now displayed. Just click on "Next" here.
When you see this screen pls move on to Section 4, which you'll find a little further down!
Method 2 of 2
1. Open Microsoft Teams and sign in with your email address.
2. Enter your password and click "Sign in".
3. The "More information Required" window is now displayed. Just click on "Next" here.
4. Install and set up Microsoft Authenticator (Smartphone)
4.1. Now let's start setting up the Microsoft Authenticator. Download the Microsoft Authenticator App from Apple App Store or from Google Play Store
4.2. To do this, open the respective app store and go to the search area. Search for "Microsoft Authenticator". (Hinweis: Achtung es gibt auch andere Anbieter unsichere Anbieter)
4.3. After you have installed the app, open it up and tap the little plus icon in the upper right corner. Now select your business or school account and tap "Scan QR Code".
4.4. Now Switch back to the computer and click on "Next" to continue.
4.5. Click "Next" again.
4.6. Now scan teh QR code with your smartphone and click "Next".
4.7. On your smartphone, you must now authorize access.
4.8. Then click "Next" in the window on your computer and click "Done" in the next window.
Congratulations! The Multifactor authentication is now set up.
Alternative method when the first two methods don't come up
If the first two methods do not work after logging in and the prompt for MFA setup is not displayed, this page
My Sign-Ins | Security Info | Microsoft.com can be accessed as an alternative.
Under Security information, click "Add sign-in-method" and select "Microsoft Authenticator".
Then follow the instructions as described in point 4 above.
